Monica’s Lady Sangeet

I think I’m going through withdrawal from this couple since it felt like I had event coverage every day starting from mid August with this awesome couple.  So we’re excited to share a few pics from each event to tell their story.

I’m going to rewind back and start with one of their first wedding events, Monica’s Lady Sangeet.  I remember arriving to J&J Swagat (I always wondered.. if the owners named this place because J&J (Johnson & Johnson) is across the street from them.. anyways.. I digress) where the room was beautifully decorated quickly filled up with family and friends.   I personally love seeing all the bright colours of the outfits on the females.  The night was filled with many traditional aspects from singing, playing of the dholki and dancing.

To my friends, Monica and Veneet, here are some pics starting from your first event. Enjoy!

Sharan & Alex’s // Sangeet/Henna Party

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend and for those who celebrate Easter, Happy Easter =)

I’m back sharing the story of Sharan and Alex’s week of celebrations starting off with their Sangeet Party.  It was such an awesome lively celebration and not to mention that Sharan looked spectacular in her anarkali.  When I walked around the hall… everywhere I looked people were laughing, partying and dancing… there was not a dull moment that night.  The entertainment aspect was pretty awesome – kudos to all the family members and awesome little dancer! As always, I’ll let the handful of pictures visually story tell this celebration.  Back to the computer I go as I’m stoked to process and share more pics from their awesome week.  Stay tuned!

Meera & Jon’s Wedding – Henna Party, Part 1

I’m going to write this entry from two perspectives since to me this was a hybrid wedding … I’ll explain in a bit.    For the past four years I learned so much about the different cultures, traditions and awesome ethnic foods at weddings.   For those of you who have not had the opportunity to experience a traditional Indian wedding... Well…It’s awesome.  The gorgeous colours of the Saris, the detail of the Henna, the intricate dances, and the amazing food always astound me. The fact the celebration last a few days makes it even better.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this entry, this was a hybrid wedding for me – meaning, I truly had the best of both worlds.  I was honoured to be a groomsmen and also have the opportunity to do the photography.  What can I say about Meera and Jon’s wedding… it was simply amazing.  I got to see family and friends that I have not seen in a long time and meet some great new people.    As we’re editing all their images, here are a handful of pics from their Henna party celebration.   As you can see, it was a blast.  Meera and Jon, thanks again for having me be a part of such an awesome event.   Hope you enjoy some of the pics.

Thanks, Leon
