Emily & Steve, Vineland Estates Winery engagement shoot

I’m pretty stoked about Emily & Steve’s wedding that is coming up at the end of this month. It’s going to be at a new venue for us that we never shot at and since we’re in the heart of the summer (well.. although it’s a little cold outside) it’s perfect for their outdoor ceremony.

I got a chance to check out their venue (The Royal Botanical Gardens) on the day of their lifestyle engagement shoot and I loved it. Since we were only a short drive away from the Vineland Estates Winery, we decided to do their engagement shoot there. The weather was hit and miss all afternoon, but it was all good as we worked with what we got and started indoors then headed out to the vineyards. The ground was wet and mucky but Steve and Emily are total troopers and trekked out into the dirt and mud without hesitation. Emily and Steve are perfect in front of the camera – totally at home with each other, which makes for great pics. Towards the end of our shoot, the sun came out…which added a good mix to their images.

Before we get to the pics, I want to thank our friend Kathy for the warm intro to her awesome friends. Thanks a million Kathy for the constant support. To Emily and Steve, I can’t thank you both enough for having us capture your upcoming big day. Here are a few pics from our shoot. Have an awesome weekend guys!

Andrea & Ian’s Wedding. Boston to Toronto, Columbus Event Centre Wedding

The middle of August is usually always pretty insane time of year for us. It’s a three hit combo of the never-ending post processing, weekend wedding / shoots and being blessed to be able to meet with new prospects. So the downfall is that we been a little behind on updating our website in sharing all these cool shoots with you guys.

Andrea and Ian’s wedding was pretty unique in the sense that they both live in Boston and had their wedding in Toronto. I can only imagine how tough it must have been for the both of them to do all the planning outside of the city. Kudos to them, and to all the family and friends that helped out.

In the morning of the their wedding, I was with Andrea and her bridesmaids / family while Kevin was with Ian and his groomsmen. We all met outside Andrea parent’s house to do the reveal. The weather was crazy hot that day and at a certain point the wedding party almost gave up with the outdoor photos… but we ended up beating the heat by taking a Starbuck’s break. The outdoor ceremony was perfect when we got back to the Columbus Event Centre in the afternoon as it got a little cooler. As the guests poured in, it was so nice to see some familiar faces that we have not seen in a while.

In the evening, it was pretty awesome to see the reception with their theme of Ninjas (check out the cake). Not to mention the fact that the bride and groom started the night party with a pretty bad ass coordinated dance.

To Andrea and Ian, thanks so much for having us capture your wedding. Here are some pics we chose to visually story tell your beautiful day. Enjoy!

“This is Paradise” HK to the T Dot.

I love this engagement lifestyle shoot for many reasons. For starters, I think it’s super sweet of Kenneth to set this shoot up for his fiancé that came all the way from Hong Kong. So the goal was to capture the spirit of Toronto and the only thing they requested was to use the mural “This is Paradise” on Queen Street.

We all met up at the mural as a starting point. I had originally met with Kenneth 2 months ago at our mutual friend’s wedding we shot. On the day of the shoot, it was great seeing Kenneth again and meeting his awesome fiancé Edith. Getting to know them as we went around various spots around Toronto, it was so apparent that these two are meant to be and being half way around the world from each other doesn’t stop them.

So, as I felt like the ambassador for Toronto with a camera that day, we worked our way through some Toronto-ish backdrops which included Queen Street, Osgoode Hall, CN Tower, Tim Horton’s and the Iconic Distillery District. Kenneth and Edith are so comfortable with each other, thus translating into great pics.

To my friends Kenneth and Edith, sincere thanks to you both for having me capture your Toronto engagement session. I wish you both continuous happiness and all the best for your wedding in HK. Here are just a few pics from our session.

A&M’s beautiful new addition to their family

It’s funny, a few weeks before their shoot and before their beautiful daughter was born, Gi and I ran into A&M when we were shopping in prep for our daughter’s arrival. So when I got the text that the family was home, we set up a date and I arrived at their home to meet and capture some pics of their daughter.
Baby H is a cutie. She has so many expressions and capturing her was easy peasy. We started off in their sweet nursery they prepared for her and worked our way around the house and outside for a bit.

To my friends, A&M – thanks so much again for having me capture this sweet life stage in your family. I’m sure your little one has grown a lot in the last few weeks, but here are some pics when she was only a week old to bring back some memories.

Monica and Veneet’s Engagement

Monica & Veneet are a pretty awesome couple that you’ll be seeing many more special event pictures that leads to their wedding day in August. For their engagement celebration, we all met up a little earlier at one of my favorite locations that I’ve been itching to use for pics – and they happen to be the lucky chosen couple.

After having some fun in front of the camera we headed over to JJ Swagat where their engagement celebration / Pooja took place. The ceremony was on the stage and they coupled it along with amazing food and entertainment from multiple dancers. It was great that I got a chance to capture this event as I got to meet both sides of the family and which means I will be seeing e familiar faces over the next coming months with all the events that we will be capturing.

I want to thank my insanely talent friend Shikha Bedi (Henna By Shikha) for recommending us and of course our new friends Monica & Veneet. You guys and your family rock for doing your best in having us capture every special event leading up to your wedding – thank you and we’re honoured. To start off, here are some pics from the engagement. See you guys soon.

One big happy family.

There’s probably only one major thing that sucks about my job – the work hours. It’s not the long hours but it’s the fact that we work on the complete opposite schedule of our friends and family which makes it hard to see people.

M&L and close friends of mine that I don’t see enough of in person. So I was super happy when I heard their family was expecting another addition and was thrilled to capture pics for them. I think for this shoot, I spent an equal amount of time playing catch up as well as taking pics of their beautiful family. Their new addition to the family is super cute and it’s awesome that he has a big brother.

To my friends M&L, always love seeing you guys and thanks so much for this shoot and for your generosity to Gi and I. We’re both extremely happy for your family and will definitely see you guys soon.

Much love, Leon
