Our Baby Girl

So it has been 15 days since the birth of our child. It has been a whirlwind romance that started from that first ultrasound when we found her heartbeat and she was just a little pea. This is one of the reasons that we still call her our little sweet pea.

Since we have been home for the last 8 days, it has been a lot of lessons learned for Leon, my mom, and I. I have to say that I am thankful and grateful to have so much help during these first few weeks. I have so much more respect for my own mother who was a single mom raising me. This job is hard and harder when you are broken the first couple of weeks after giving birth. The other lucky part is that I have a husband who is around to help me out since his schedule is flexible. As the saying goes it takes a village to raise a child and I now know that to be so true.

We have been preparing for our baby girl since we found out about her existence. There are so many things that we have worked on in the house that we have kept in limbo for the last six years. For instance, we actually finished another room in the house aka the nursery, upgraded ourselves from paper curtains to real curtains, and custom closets for baby and mommy (Thanks Daddy!).

As a new mom, I am in love with my baby girl. I know that she is a crazy crying helpless little thing but she is just so adorable. What makes her adorable other than the fact that she is precious and tiny. She is adorable because she is a product of commitment and love between Leon and myself. We have so much hope for her future and can only pray that we raise her in a way that she will be able to make good decisions going forward. As for now, I will just appreciate the little fleeting moments of love that we get to share.

As the theme of our nursery goes, “All you need is love”.

A&M’s beautiful new addition to their family

It’s funny, a few weeks before their shoot and before their beautiful daughter was born, Gi and I ran into A&M when we were shopping in prep for our daughter’s arrival. So when I got the text that the family was home, we set up a date and I arrived at their home to meet and capture some pics of their daughter.
Baby H is a cutie. She has so many expressions and capturing her was easy peasy. We started off in their sweet nursery they prepared for her and worked our way around the house and outside for a bit.

To my friends, A&M – thanks so much again for having me capture this sweet life stage in your family. I’m sure your little one has grown a lot in the last few weeks, but here are some pics when she was only a week old to bring back some memories.

Your Friend,

Leon

One big happy family.

There’s probably only one major thing that sucks about my job – the work hours. It’s not the long hours but it’s the fact that we work on the complete opposite schedule of our friends and family which makes it hard to see people.

M&L and close friends of mine that I don’t see enough of in person. So I was super happy when I heard their family was expecting another addition and was thrilled to capture pics for them. I think for this shoot, I spent an equal amount of time playing catch up as well as taking pics of their beautiful family. Their new addition to the family is super cute and it’s awesome that he has a big brother.

To my friends M&L, always love seeing you guys and thanks so much for this shoot and for your generosity to Gi and I. We’re both extremely happy for your family and will definitely see you guys soon.

Much love, Leon

Sister love.

It’s time to catch up on posting updates as there have been so many events we have captured within the last month and a half – it’s been wildly crazy busy for us and I can’t be more thankful for that. My first of two post today starts off with a sweet newborn session and I figured it would be cute to follow this post after with a another 1st birthday capture and smash cake.

When M contacted me about setting up a newborn shoot for their upcoming baby, I couldn’t be happier for them to see their family grow. I got a chance to meet this family a few years back to do a family lifestyle session shoot and was pretty stoked to see them again. When I walked into their home the first thing I noticed was how insanely cute their eldest daughter was growing up to be. I started off taking a few pics of her while mom and dad got their newest addition ready. What was pretty awesome about this shoot was the genuine love of big sister for her baby sister. You can definitely tell how excited the big sister was to have a sibling.

M&C, congrats again and thank you for the session. It’s so good seeing you both + your beautiful family.

Bump to Cute Little Baby.

It’s the most wonderful news to hear when your friends are expecting. So when the father to be emailed me the great news back in December, I was truly thrilled for them. I’m so happy I got to capture both the pregnancy and their gorgeous son at his newborn stage. For me, it was just great to see both J&R since the last time I saw them was when we gave them their wedding pics.

I love how they decided to do their maternity shoot at their home as I agree with the saying “home is where the heart is”. We worked around their house and just basically had some fun with the session. Towards the end of our shoot, I loved the fact that we got to get in some snow pics, which properly represented their winter pregnancy and our crazy vortex this year.

Now fast forward a few weeks and here comes this gorgeous little dude. What was perfect about this shoot was that all of the family was over that day and everyone got a chance to be in a picture with the star player. Baby M was picture perfect for the shoot and the Mom and Dad looked great too. To my friends J&R, loved seeing you guys and thank you for letting me capture these precious life stages in your lives. Both Gi and I are thrilled that you guys are parents. Here are some pics from our session.

First Christmas // Newborn Shoot

Talk about a crazy couple of days for people here in Toronto. We hope everyone is safe at home with power and heat.. especially being Christmas eve and all. Speaking of which, I wanted to share 2 separate entries that relate to this wonderful time of the year… starting with this cute shoot of baby O.  T&S are friends of mine and I couldn’t be happier for them when T told me that they where expecting.  After baby O was born, we figured out a date that worked for everyone and I hopped on by.   As always, it’s great seeing friends I have not seen in a while and it’s especially sweeter when you mix in a cute baby.  The shoot was super cute as you’ll see in the pic and I’m thankful that Baby O’s Nona was there as she was a great asset in helping us out.

To my friends T&S, it was great seeing you guys and congrats again on your beautiful daughter.  Thanks so much for having me do these pics for you.. it is an honour guys. Wishing the 4 of you a Merry Christmas from Gi and I.. here are a few pics from our shoot. See you at Guv no? =)
