Welcome Baby A&M! Beautiful Newborn Twins

What was really sweet about this shoot was something that these pics don’t tell.  You often hear the phrase  “enjoy every minute” (esp when it comes to babies and the wedding day) but not many people do.  The feeling of walking into J&A’s home it was just that. It was such a calm and heartwarming feeling with parents whom truly enjoy every single second of this newborn phase with their beautiful daughters.

Baby A&M are adorable and having only had the opportunity to meet them for a few hours, I can definitely see each of their individual personalities already. This was a fun and cute shoot and I want to thank my new friends J&A for having me capture these sweet memories of their family. Thanks so much to you both and here are just a few pics from our shoot.

Welcoming baby E! The first 24 hours newborn shoot

This is Gi and I am writing this blog in Vancouver during our annual trip out west.   However, this trip is extra special since we not only got to hang out with one of my bfs and her family but we also got to witness the birth of her baby girl.

We’ve been friends for 23 years and counting, so being part of these milestone moments is precious.   This is especially the case since they live so far away that timing would need to be just right.  Lucky for us, baby E arrived right in the middle of our two weeks here.  She is super adorbs and rounds out this million dollar family perfectly.

Our annual west coast trips are going to be so different going forward since we are now both families of 4 which means extra fun times for everyone.   I guess this is the circle of life, we grew up together and I am super excited to watch our kids grow up together.   For now, here are some pics of the shoot that we did during our visit. Thank you guys for housing our family of four during this crazy time.

As our baby girls likes to say, here are some pics of bean, bean mui mui, bean mommy, bean daddy, and bean popo.

Welcome baby M! Newborn photography

It was kinda cool that I got to see E (Mom) at a recent wedding when she was pregnant with baby M not too long ago.  I even made them do a maternity pose at the wedding..hehe.   I was happy I got see them a few weeks after with their beautiful baby girl M.   We started taking pics of her and then worked in the whole family.  M’s big sister is pretty sweet to her new baby sister as you’ll see in the pics.  It was great that they coordinated most of their immediate family to join in for the pics… and they have a big family and lots of babies too (as we did our best to squeeze in M’s twin cousins in too).  It’s going to be such fun times for the kids to all grow up together.

I want to congratulate and thank my friends E& J for having me capture these sweet pics of their family. Great seeing everyone!

Big Welcome to Baby E! Newborn Photo shoot

I’m so happy to meet this cute little guy and so happy for my friends J&R as well as big brother M. I loved how they had everything ready for this shoot (matching outfits, Toronto Maple Leaf stuff, room all prepped) and probably had tons more but we didn't want to over work our baby models over here.  On the other end of the spectrum of being not prepared… My wonderful wife just reminded me that I still haven't hung the pics in our son nursery and he’s now 3 months old soon…

Their newborn baby E is just the cutest and it is even cuter when seeing big brother M’s interaction with his new brother. We started off the shoot with the spotlight on baby E and worked in the family after.  Thank you so much again for setting up this shoot and I love seeing your big happy family. I’m looking forward connecting with all of you in the up coming months (which is another thank you..that I owe both of you)). Here are a few pics from our shoot.

Lots of love from the Chai Chang family of four :)

Our baby boy and his super heroes.

Aside from that fact that I’m so in love with my little guy and still can’t believe we have a family of 4 now… I really don’t know where to start this story.

Scared. I start off with that... and not for obvious reasons… let me rewind. We never thought that we would be blessed with the hope of having a second child…let alone actually even having one. It took us 5 years before we had our beautiful Alexis “Hope” Chai and you can imagine how insanely happy we were to hear about our baby boy.  So why scared? Well… Long and short…  my wife lost an insane amount of blood during the birth of our daughter and I nearly lost her.

So for the 9 months of Gigi’s pregnancy what I kept to myself was how petrified I was of losing my wife with the birth of our son.  So what happened 14 days ago? We headed to the hospital around 11:30pm and was told to go home as she was only dilated 3-4 centimeters and nurse’s joked around that.. Gi looked way too comfortable to be in labour.   We went home and one hour later... my wife was screaming at the top of her lungs about the insane amount of labour pains.  I quote the ambulance… “we didn’t have to look for your house number… we heard your house.”

Heroes.

The morning of May 11, 2016... was filled with many heroes.  Starting with the 911 dispatcher, who did such an amazing job calming the freaked out helpless husband… (when you hear the words…. I am going to guide you to deliver this baby…staying cool…is so tough) – I thank you so much.  To the paramedics that made it just in time to deliver my son safely and re-assuring me a million times that my wife and baby were doing great -  I thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

As my wife always says… it takes a village to raise a child… and I was so lucky that her mom was with us that night… to be there for Gigi and watch over our daughter (I don’t even want to imagine if I had to juggle her and my wife that night) – thank you for grandma for everything you do. I love you.  To my wife Gigi, my best friend, the love of my life and now one extra designation …my hero.  I owe you the world Gi.

Love, Leon

Baby O, Just a week old.

So right before I left their shoot.. J showed me the album I did for their first born’s shoot.  Looking at the the pics.. you can definitely tell they are brothers… no doubt. I added a pic of K&O together in the end for a visual comparison.

I’m totally happy for my friends J&B on their new addition to the family. I’m glad this shoot happened for a few reasons.  Aside from the obvious, getting to hang and seeing how big K is in person…it’s that the family is keeping things equal between the brothers. I personally feel the pressure of making sure I’ll document our future son’s life as much as I have for our daughter.

Their son O is perfect and seeing their older brother get along with his baby brother in such a gentle fashion makes me happy… and gives me hope for my daughter when the time comes.  Thanks again to my friends J&B for the constant support. Much love guys!
