Sarah & Paul, Christmas Market Distillery District Engagement Shoot

I remember the day of our initial meeting with Sarah and her Mom as they were kind enough to invite me over to their place.   This was awesome as it was really nice to get a chance to meet with the both of them in a comfortable environment.   So I’m kinda glad that Gi didn’t come with me during this meeting, since we got into the conversation about my peanut allergy and how I don’t carry an EpiPen…which Gi been h-a-r-ping on me forever to get.   As I foolishly had no valid reason to explain why I don’t have one.. I can proudly say now that I do. My wife thanks you both.

Sarah mentioned in our meeting that Paul proposed to her at the Distillery District and since the Christmas market was happening, we thought it would be the perfect spot to do their engagement shoot.  On the day of their shoot, we met up at the Brookfield Place before heading out to the Distillery District.   When we got to the Christmas Market we saw a huge line up to get in. It was insanely busy that day and cold. We miraculously got in and as the line dictated it was jammed packed with people… like arm to arm touching.  But Sarah and Paul were great sports and we made the best of the situation.  We walked around the Distillery District and did our best to avoid the huge crowds and jumped into buildings to warm up every chance we got.  Towards the end of the shoot, we headed down to the waterfront where the Toronto skyline was lit up with holiday colours, which was a perfect end for this shoot.

I thank our mutual friends Andrea and Des for the warm intro to this awesome couple. I especially want to thank Sarah and Paul for having us capture your upcoming wedding – we’re honoured and stoked. Here are just a few shots from our shoot.

The perfect Fall shoot. Rose and Michael, Toronto engagement shoot

Hard to believe when you look at these pics that this was the Fall season but lucky for us the weather worked out amazing for their shoot. I remember this day so well…since after their shoot, I backed up their pics and jumped on a plane a few hours after.

Rose and Michael are such a chill couple and I’m honestly really happy that I got to know them at this shoot and excited for their upcoming wedding this year. On the day of this shoot, we met at Dundas Square and worked our way around the city. I thought it was pretty cool that the City Site Seeing bus let us take a few pics on their bus – thank you! Rose and Michael are really natural and comfortable with each other. They looked so good and I loved the attire that they wore. Since the weather was amazing, I figured we would switch things up from the urban Toronto look to a little water, beach and nature.

To my new friends Rose and Michael, we are stoked about your upcoming wedding this year. Thank you for choosing us and hope you like some pics from your shoot.

Ashley + Mike… See you guys tomorrow!

At the Distillery there’s this huge art installation called “Still Dancing”… which we ended up using for this couple’s engagement pics …as it is pretty fitting since Ashley runs a dance studio.  Ok..truth be told, I had no clue the name of that installation until I googled it… hehe

I was introduced to this cool couple from our friend Bernadette (http://www.serendipityandco.ca) whom Gi and I met when we shot Anet and Vic’s wedding.  Our first meeting was at Ashley’s dance studio in Mississauga last year where we got a tour of their beautiful studio.  Fast forward one year and we’re stoked to shoot their wedding tomorrow!  For their lifestyle shoot, we met at the Distillery District where it was super fun capturing this fun couple.  These guys are totally easy going which always makes my job that much easier.

I’m pretty stoked about tomorrow’s wedding shoot.. as their venue is somewhere new for us + excited to see this awesome couple. Thanks so much to Bernadette for keeping us in mind and of course to Ashley and Mike for having us capture your big day -  see you guys all tomorrow.

The perfect combo – Park, love & Chatime. Amy + Gary

I can’t believe it’s mid September already.. crazy.   This month just flew by for us as we’ve been insanely busy capturing all these awesome weddings and other shoots.  We’re really excited to share.  This month and next is pretty crazy, as we’re blessed to be booked with beautiful clients such as Amy + Gary.

I’m happy to be able to work with them as they are genuinely good and kind peoples.… (dudes.. I owe you like 3 Chatimes now =)  For the locations of this shoot, I got to kick back in the back seat of their ride as they drove me around to some spots they liked.  Amy and Gary are a great looking couple which made my job pretty easy. I loved the fact they Amy and Gary brought props and the most tastiest one of them all… Chatime.

To my new friends, Amy and Gary, thank you guys so much for having us be a part of your big day tomorrow. We’re honoured and excited.  Next round of Chatime on me.  Can’t wait to see you guy tomorrow!

Klia & Nick, The wedding count down begins!

September is pretty busy for us… back to back shooting every weekend… wedding then baby shoot, wedding then baby shoot… man the second verse of that nursery rhyme of “sitting in a tree” really does apply in life. The first two weddings this month are start off with personal friends of mine (Klia and Nick fall in this category of course) which makes what I do that much more enjoyable.

I’m really glad I got to do this fun engagement shoot with Klia and Nick. I think they are both fantastic people and having to spend a little time together during this shoot only validates this notion. We all met at Evergreen Brick Works where we basically walked around the beautiful grounds, chatted and of course captured some pics. Klia and Nick are right at home with each other which makes my job easy breezy. I love the fact that they are up for any adventure, as they climbed across trails to make shots happen. Since Nick and I are forever car guys, I suggest we get some pics with his car. Ironically enough, we have the same car… great minds =) To save Gi time from over riding this post.. let me correct myself.. Gi and Nick have the same ride. Ironically enough… Nick and Gi previous to the STI had the same cars too… what the heck.. haha.

It’s hard for me to vocalize how thankful I am for having the support of friends like Klia and Nick. Aside from the obvious in having us capture the day, you guys made the process easy for us… basically here’s the date and see you then. I appreciate the trust. So.. 2 more weeks and the party begins =) See you guys soon and thanks again!

Leon
