A lifestyle shoot for the Grandparent’s

With the holiday season coming, we have had a good handful of people gift our lifestyle photo sessions to their friends and family as a Christmas gift.  Just like this shoot, this was a gift from my friend Jacqueline to her parents.  I’m kinda envious of  this shoot since I’ve been trying to set something up like this for my parents… but coordinating everyone to be available for an hour or so has been impossible.  So kudos to Jacqueline for getting her whole family together.. which is probably an easy breezy task for her .. as we worked with her on much larger events where she does the planning.

For the shoot, I met with Jackie’s parents first to get some pics of them together.  They were so easy going and such a joy to capture… to be completely honest. Shortly after all of their kids showed up to join the shoot.  Like every proud grandparent, it was so awesome seeing how much they love their adorable grandchildren.  I want to thank my friend Jacqueline for having me capture this session for your parents.  You guys have a beautiful family and it was awesome meeting everyone.  Here are just a few pics from our shoot.

Pumpkin Patch. Whittamore Farm Family Shoot

I’m kinda sad that Forsythe Farm closed (or relocated for that matter). I learnt about the farm last year from doing a handful of Fall family shoots there. I really wanted to sign up for this program where they offered top seasonal fruits & veggies to people on their list.  Aside from that, there was a farm and a pumpkin patch – great for kids.  I met this family there last year for their shoot and since the closure of the farm, this year we chose Whittamore Farms for a new location.

Whittamore Farms was jam packed that day and as you can see by the pics, the weather was great.  I actually went there earlier with Gi and baby and we bounced into a few of our friends.  When D&M showed up with their adorable twins.. we started off at the pumpkin patch and their kids totally enjoyed being all over the place.  We tried our best every so often to get in as much family pics of the four of them as we could.

I want to sincerely thank my friends D&M for contacting me for this shoot. Your kids are growing up to be even more super cute and it was great seeing you all.

Our annual Fall season shoot

The Fall season is the one time of the year where we get the most requests for photo shoots. Although we were away for most of October, we did manage to squeeze in a good handful of shoots that I’m excited to share.  First one up tonight is a family that I love seeing every year.

I love seeing J&S and their gorgeous kids every year and I am amazed how much their kids have grown. It’s so true how every parent tells me… kids grow up so quick.   J&S picked an awesome day for their shoot since the weather was so nice.  We made use of this good weather and headed off to Sunnybrook park. I do a lot of these family lifestyle shoots and when the kids are around J&S’s kids age… you got to be prepared to run and be quick on your feet to capture these cute kids… that day was prob the most exercise I’ve gotten in a long time =)

J&S’s kids are awesome and totally photogenic. It’s always fun times for me to see this whole family. To my friends J&S, thank you both for the continual support and also for the awesome gift you got our daughter.

How cute is this little dude…

I always loved doing these family lifestyle shoots and now that we have a baby, I like them even more. I find it cool that I can relate to each baby’s life stage especially if they are close in age to our daughter and it is even more fascinating for me to see what to expect if they are a few months older (so not looking forward to the teething stage next..)

When K contacted me, I was thrilled to hear that they had a gorgeous little baby boy and was excited to meet this little dude for a shoot.  When I got to their house and met baby J for the first time…I was all smiles since this little dude is so flipping cute.  Not for nothing too… Mom looked super fit (my guess is she’s like Gi and started hitting the gym right after birth..). We started our shoot at a nearby park and walked back to their home to take a few more shots in their beautiful backyard before heading in.  Baby J was perfect in front of the camera and basically we kept taking pics until baby J got tired of being a model.

I want to sincerely thank my friends K&M for having me capture their little man - congrats again guys.  Here are just a few pics from our shoot

Happy 2 months Baby O!

I’m finally feeling more energetic after  pulling  40+ hours of shooting this weekend.  So to play catch up on our blog, I’m double posting tonight with the continuation of a multiday wedding capture and starting with this cute baby shoot .

R & J are friends of Gi and I and we’re thrilled that they are parents and the fact that I got to take some pics of their beautiful son.  Funny, the last time I saw R&J we were covered in mud, sweat and tears (the tears on my end) from a Spartan Run event we did last year.  So it was a nice change to see them in a clean non running / muddy environment this time =)

Baby O is a cute little dude. Ironically enough, he was born around the same time as our daughter so it’s nice to be able to relate to his current life stage.  Baby O was great in front of the camera and was totally cooperative with us that evening.  I love the fact that at 2 months, he can wave to the camera =)

To our friends R&J, congrats again guys and thank you both so much for having me do this shoot for you 3.  Here are just a few pics from Baby O’s 2 month shoot.

Leon

Happy 1st birthday L!

I totally dig the Korean culture. From their delicious food (Mmm.. pork bone soup) down to all the unique traditions. Heck, even their greeting, ie, bowing makes the most sense to me, no worries about a handshake and passing over germs I say. But seriously, given that I have had the chance to capture a lot of their cultural aspects over the years, I think it’s pretty cool. So it’s great to see the younger gen parents like Gina and Paul continue to carry on these traditions for their family.

When Gina first contacted us in late fall last year to set up a family lifestyle session, if I could remember correctly, the weather didn’t cooperate and she decided to save the shoot for 2014, for her daughter’s first birthday. So on the day of the shoot, the event was at Seoul House and everything was set up perfectly. I was surprised to see a handful of familiar faces at this party, which are the same people that recommended me – many thanks guys. When I finally met Gina and Paul in person they where super nice and their daughters were totally adorable. For this party, they had all the traditional games, outfits, and desserts to celebrate their youngest daughter’s first birthday. They also had a cake set up for their eldest daughter K, as I assume their birthdates are close together.

After the food we stepped outside for some quick pics underneath the overhang as it was about to rain.
To Gina and Paul, thanks so much guys for having me capture this important milestone for your family, you guys rock. Here are some pics from the day.
