Veneet’s Sangeet

So before the weekend I posted a few pics from Monica’s Lady Sangeet to start the  showcase of their wedding events last month.  I really enjoyed capturing all of these events and one of the many positive aspects of doing this is that I got the opportunity to get to know Monica and Vaneet’s family and friends each time.

Veneet’s Sangeet was a fun night.. to add to this point, the next morning when I was to arrive to capture Veneet’s Mayyan, everyone ended up being late due to the great party from the night before.  The night was filled with singing and dancing, plus tons of positive energy.  I hate generalizations, but there is one thing I’ve noticed with every Indian event I’ve captured – everyone is on the dance floor.

Happy 2 months Baby O!

I’m finally feeling more energetic after  pulling  40+ hours of shooting this weekend.  So to play catch up on our blog, I’m double posting tonight with the continuation of a multiday wedding capture and starting with this cute baby shoot .

R & J are friends of Gi and I and we’re thrilled that they are parents and the fact that I got to take some pics of their beautiful son.  Funny, the last time I saw R&J we were covered in mud, sweat and tears (the tears on my end) from a Spartan Run event we did last year.  So it was a nice change to see them in a clean non running / muddy environment this time =)

Baby O is a cute little dude. Ironically enough, he was born around the same time as our daughter so it’s nice to be able to relate to his current life stage.  Baby O was great in front of the camera and was totally cooperative with us that evening.  I love the fact that at 2 months, he can wave to the camera =)

To our friends R&J, congrats again guys and thank you both so much for having me do this shoot for you 3.  Here are just a few pics from Baby O’s 2 month shoot.

Leon

Monica’s Lady Sangeet

I think I’m going through withdrawal from this couple since it felt like I had event coverage every day starting from mid August with this awesome couple.  So we’re excited to share a few pics from each event to tell their story.

I’m going to rewind back and start with one of their first wedding events, Monica’s Lady Sangeet.  I remember arriving to J&J Swagat (I always wondered.. if the owners named this place because J&J (Johnson & Johnson) is across the street from them.. anyways.. I digress) where the room was beautifully decorated quickly filled up with family and friends.   I personally love seeing all the bright colours of the outfits on the females.  The night was filled with many traditional aspects from singing, playing of the dholki and dancing.

To my friends, Monica and Veneet, here are some pics starting from your first event. Enjoy!

The perfect combo – Park, love & Chatime. Amy + Gary

I can’t believe it’s mid September already.. crazy.   This month just flew by for us as we’ve been insanely busy capturing all these awesome weddings and other shoots.  We’re really excited to share.  This month and next is pretty crazy, as we’re blessed to be booked with beautiful clients such as Amy + Gary.

I’m happy to be able to work with them as they are genuinely good and kind peoples.… (dudes.. I owe you like 3 Chatimes now =)  For the locations of this shoot, I got to kick back in the back seat of their ride as they drove me around to some spots they liked.  Amy and Gary are a great looking couple which made my job pretty easy. I loved the fact they Amy and Gary brought props and the most tastiest one of them all… Chatime.

To my new friends, Amy and Gary, thank you guys so much for having us be a part of your big day tomorrow. We’re honoured and excited.  Next round of Chatime on me.  Can’t wait to see you guy tomorrow!

Connie + Mike, Crush Wine Bar Wedding

I totally remembered this wedding for a few reasons.  Aside from the venue being at Crush Wine bar which I thought would be awesome… Connie and Mike’s wedding was held 2 days before my daughter’s due date.  So just to get this out there, I had a trusted photographer on standby and not to mention Kevin could have run the show if anything were to happen.  In most cases I usually leave my cell phone in my camera bag.. but that day.. if I could I would have crazy glued it to my forehead just to hear the call.  Bottom line is, our daughter was born days after and this wedding rocked.

I think Connie and Mike make a perfect couple and you can also judge a book by its cover as they are also a good looking couple too.  Kevin and I started off at each location where Connie and Mike were getting ready and we met up at Trinity Chapel in the U of T grounds.  I love the look of this Chapel especially the bright high ceilings.  Connie looked gorgeous walking down the aisle and after their ceremony we used the surrounding area of U of T to take some pics.

We got to Crush wine bar and the placed looked amazing. We got a chance to pull Connie and Mike aside to do some more pics, as we fell in love with some of the interior space and exterior for that matter. I really like this venue and the awesome part is I got a chance to try some food - amazing. The night was intimate and just being a fly on the wall, everyone looked like they had a blast.

I want to sincerely thank Natalia for giving me a warm referral.. thanks you so much for keeping us in mind! I also want to thank Kevin C for being my other pair of creative eyes for this wedding. To my friends Connie and Mike, thanks so much for having us capture your special day. Here are a few pics we specifically chose to tell the story of your awesome day while we process the rest.

Thanks, Leon

Jen & Sam, The Cathedral Centre Wedding

It’s been crazy busy for us from event shooting and to all the post editing work. But we’re excited, as we’ve been shipping them out to our awesome clients. I’m playing catch up this week on blogging a few weddings that we’ve captured recently – Starting with Jen and Sam.

We can’t speak for other photographers, but we love any new locations where we have not shot at before especially since we’ve been to almost every venue in Toronto over the past 8 years. Although it’s comfortable to know familiar grounds, it’s so exciting to use new space. For Jen and Sam’s wedding , The Cathedral Centre was a new space for us. I started off in the morning with Jen at the Thompson Hotel where she had a sweet spacious suite with all her girls. It was also fantastic as I was surrounded by familiar faces from Jen’s best friend Shirley to the always talented Patricia Make up artistry. A new first for me was Jen checking her logging into her work email in the morning - now that’s dedication =)

After everyone got ready, I called up Kevin to see where he was with the guys and of course they were already ready. We all met at U of T where Jen and Sam did their first reveal and then headed around the grounds with their rambunctious wedding party to take some fun pics. The ceremony was held at the Metropolitan United Church and the ceremony was perfect. The Church and the Cathedral Centre were within walking distance.. which is a refreshing first for us… as refreshing as lugging heavy gear around in a hot day can be.
The space was gorgeous at the Cathedral Centre and what was cool about the way they had the venue set up was the fact they didn’t go with a traditional sit down meal but wanted more of an open mingling environment for their guests. The night ended with awesome speeches, slideshows and SDE video.

Before we get to the pics that we have chosen to tell the story, I want to sincerely thank Kevin C for shooting this event with me. To Jen and Sam, thanks so much again for having us capture your amazing day. Here are some pics we chose to visually story tell your wedding day. Enjoy!
