Baby Shower Bliss

I don’t even have the words to express the gratitude I have for all of the friends and family who helped us celebrate this special time in our lives. Leon and I had our baby shower today and we were surrounded by love. As many of our friends know we are super excited to have our baby girl join our family soon and it is wonderful to know that they will be part of this crazy group of ours.

The shower was held at our wonderful friends Des/Andrea’s condo room which was the perfect place for everyone including the kids to hang out in. Thank you again for letting us use your place and I can’t wait to get back out on the field with the both of you =)

We were also lucky to have the caterers from our wedding – Rovey representing. We knew that Roger and Harvey, who catered our wedding were the right people to help feed the guests. Of course we were right, as it was perfect. Thank you for always making our celebrations so special.

Picture booth’s are always a normal thing to have for a photography couple and of course the only person who has the perfect set up is our buddy Kevin. The man who always has the best set up for these occasions. Thanks for setting it up for us with no questions asked. You are the man…and now Leon’s current partner in crime. Lucky I am not a jealous woman :p

As many may know, I am a control freak but this was one of the occasions that I did not control anything. Of course this is because I had 5 of my closest friends who planned the whole day. Before I even got to the event, I knew that it would be beautiful because these lovely ladies have the biggest hearts and not to mention they are also some of the most creative women I know. All I have to say is that I cannot be more Thankful as 4 out of 5 of these ladies are mothers of children under the age of 3. So having them spare their time to create such a fantastical event is more than a newbie mom like me deserves. I love all of you and words cannot express the gratitude that Leon and I have.

These ladies were not the only ones that showed us love. We often don’t get the chance to see everyone as we all know that our weekends tend to be filled with shoots. So we actually got to see a number of rare faces which we appreciate so much. We even got our girl Doreen who surprised us from overseas as she happened to be in town. I know that we don’t get to see each of you often enough but please know that we are so Thankful that each of you were able to make it out to celebrate with us. I wish that we could have spent more time with each of you and hopefully I will be able to catch up with all of you when I finally go on mat leave.

Thank you for the love….Thank you for your thoughts….Thank you for your gifts..….Thank you for your time….Thank you…Thank you… Thank you...We love you all.

Sunny morning lifestyle shoot // Connie & Mike + I&R

Everything about this shoot was good times. Connie and Mike were super easy going, spring was here, and of course I appreciated the fact that Mike’s son came along for the shoot with their awesome dog. The most perfect combo.

We all met at Evergreen Brickworks on a Saturday morning and for those of you that haven’t been on a weekend, it’s usually pretty busy as they have a farmers market. So we did our best to avoid the crowds and headed towards the conservation areas first. Having the whole fam there was fun to shoot. We started getting pics of everyone and in between we pulled I&R aside and just focused on Connie and Mike… (giving a chance for Mike’s son to laugh hysterically at them when they got a little mushy in front of the camera). We ventured around the area and worked with the gorgeous backdrop of mother nature. It was hot, sunny and bright that morning, but this didn’t bug anyone one bit which was awesome.

As we are heading into the month July, this means this couple’s wedding is coming up… we can’t wait. I want to sincerely thank Connie and Mike for this fun shoot and for introducing me to both I&R – can’t wait to see all of you at the wedding! Thanks so much and here are just a few pics from your session. Enjoy!

From Boston to Toronto // Andrea & Ian’s Lifestyle Shoot

I remember Andrea and Ian’s initial meeting specifically since it was one of my first of many handful of meetings done over Skype that fell on the same week. While video conference is probably the norm for all my corporate friends, this is something new to me… as I usually do a face to face meet. I actually kinda dig it… I can get used to wearing no pants while presenting… jk =)

As the title suggests, both Andrea & Ian live in Boston but they are having their wedding in Toronto. For this engagement shoot, we timed everything where both Andrea and Ian would be in town. So on the day of the shoot, they wanted something representing Toronto and the beach (as Ian’s a beach person). We started off at the Distillery District and worked around that area before heading over to the beach as planned. It was super hot and sunny that afternoon but it totally didn’t interfere with the two of them. In front of the camera, Andrea and Ian are lots of fun. Captain obvious also notes that Ian is a beast! (the work out type).. which obviously makes him looks like he towers over Andrea =)

So t-minus one week and a bit till the wedding and we can’t wait. I want to send a special thanks to our mutual friend Kathy for the warm intro and for the constant support. To my new friends, Andrea and Ian, here are some pics from our shoot. Thanks as always and see you guy’s next week!

Happy 1st birthday L!

I totally dig the Korean culture. From their delicious food (Mmm.. pork bone soup) down to all the unique traditions. Heck, even their greeting, ie, bowing makes the most sense to me, no worries about a handshake and passing over germs I say. But seriously, given that I have had the chance to capture a lot of their cultural aspects over the years, I think it’s pretty cool. So it’s great to see the younger gen parents like Gina and Paul continue to carry on these traditions for their family.

When Gina first contacted us in late fall last year to set up a family lifestyle session, if I could remember correctly, the weather didn’t cooperate and she decided to save the shoot for 2014, for her daughter’s first birthday. So on the day of the shoot, the event was at Seoul House and everything was set up perfectly. I was surprised to see a handful of familiar faces at this party, which are the same people that recommended me – many thanks guys. When I finally met Gina and Paul in person they where super nice and their daughters were totally adorable. For this party, they had all the traditional games, outfits, and desserts to celebrate their youngest daughter’s first birthday. They also had a cake set up for their eldest daughter K, as I assume their birthdates are close together.

After the food we stepped outside for some quick pics underneath the overhang as it was about to rain.
To Gina and Paul, thanks so much guys for having me capture this important milestone for your family, you guys rock. Here are some pics from the day.

Katherine + Aaron. The count down begins!

I remember on the day of this shoot, the very first thing that came to mind when I started shooting Katherine and Aaron that these guys are Peeeerfect for each other. I met with Katherine a few times before but I never got a chance to meet with Aaron until the shoot.

So with these lifestyle sessions, I always try to work my magic and capture each couple in their most comfortable state with one another …to really get a natural shot. Sometimes it takes a little warming up (which is totally normal) and other times, like this, the magic just happens. So that being said, capturing Katherine and Aaron was fun times for me as they are pretty entertaining together. We all met up in front of Steam Whistle, which worked out perfectly, as Aaron was in town for a conference that was right near this location. The weather worked out perfectly too since we ended our shoot just before it started getting wet outside.

I sincerely want to thank my friend Elaine for introducing me to her cousin Katherine. To my new friends Katherine and Aaron, we’re super stoked to capture your wedding in T-minus a week and change. Thank you both so much guys and here are a few pics from our session.
