Love so strong // Enza and Alex’s Lifestyle Session

Here’s a 100% true story that I’ll get to in a second.   Every time I meet with potential clients one of the most asked questions I get about myself is who’s my inspiration?   For me, I don’t necessarily have one person but it is all the people I meet who inspire me.

When I was referred to Enza and Alex earlier this year (many many thanks Vanessa =)) I was invited over to their studio to meet with them to talk about their wedding and the potential to capture their big day. The moment I stepped in, I was so intrigued by their studio / living space and their passion for health and fitness.  After talking to Alex, I realized he was a personal trainer but at the time I didn’t realize how crazy fit they both are…. I just sensed a passion for fitness.  So here’s the true story part …after meeting this couple, I was totally inspired to make a healthy lifestyle change and to date I have been living through that change… as I’m currently 10 pounds less since I first met Enza and Alex in May.  And point to note, I am writing this blog entry after a 25km cycle in this cold weather.    So needless to say… when people ask… who inspires me…. I can lead them to this blog entry and tell the story

For their lifestyle shoot we met at Brickworks after the food market rush.   We got a chance to walk around and of course capture some pics fun pics of both Enza and Alex . We wrapped up the session in their studio … and being captain obvious here… they guys are c-r-a-z-y fit… but more importantly… its was awesome capturing them in their element.

Enza and Alex,  truly cant wait till the wedding next year… (on the best date ever btw...hehe) Here are just a few pics from our session.   Thanks again guys.

S+B+B+C // Fantasy Fair!

I’m that guy that seriously loves vintage items…for example, if money was no object, I would take a maintained ‘64, 911 over the newest Porsche in a heartbeat.  It really has nothing to do with the trend. It’s more the soul, the history, the stories that belong to item that gives it life and meaning…and my fascination with vintage.  When S contacted me to do their annual family shoot at the Fantasy Fair…my first thought was, this was a brilliant idea especially for the kids.  When I got there, it was such a cool feeling to see this place empty… reminded me of that scene in Toy Story where the toys stay static when people are around…

B (father) and I got to walk around beforehand as the kid warmed up.  We both admired the craftsmanship of certain rides as its crazy that the carousel was an original piece that dated back to 1911…

The afternoon was pretty awesome hanging with S+B+B+C… and spoken like a true old person… it’s crazy how quickly their kids are growing up… (all looking like mini versions of S =)) We rode some rides, played some games and all had ice cream… (When Gi asks about my work day.. I almost feel bad telling her… as she’s up at 7am and gone till whenever…lol)

S+B+B+C, it’s always great seeing you guys and capturing these moments of your family together.  Here are just a handful of pics from our day.

Hudson Bay Baby =) J+S+ Baby N Family Lifestyle Session

I think you guys can coin the phrase “Hudson Bay Baby”  like the well known “Gerber Baby” if you both ever consider your son as their model =) I guarantee their marketing team would be all over him …  =)

It was great to see this family again this year as and I had a blast capturing them and their super adorable son.  We started off inside their home and it was great that the weather held out for just for a bit, as this gave us a chance to head outside quickly to capture a few pics of N and his family in his cute outfit.   To J&S +N, its always great seeing you both and congrats again =) Thanks for always keeping us in mind and for this shoot… you guys rock. Here are a few more pics from our session.

Twins! Family Lifestyle Session

We been putting theses iMac’s through some work as we been doing non-stop processing.   As we finish the weddings for the year, I figure it’s also time to give some love to our blog and update it with some awesome shoots.

I met Sharon and her family very briefly at Tu My and Andrew’s wedding, as this session was a gift to Sharon and her family by Andrew.   So it was great to see the family again!  At the time, the boys where 9-10 months old and full of energy –aka be quick on catching the shot as these boys are quick!   We spent most of the time indoors as the weather was cold and kept capturing this awesome family till the boys knocked out… literally.   Andrew, sincere thanks for gifting this session to your sis… here are some pics of your nephews in action =)

Fall and in love. Tu and Rendell’s Lifestyle Session

So it’s official, we have our weekends back as we celebrated our last wedding for 2012 last weekend.. kind of bitter sweet… going through some serious withdrawal today believe it or not as I look out and the weather is gorgeous.

Fall is the time of year where we get tons of requests for photo sessions and it’s pretty self explanatory why… traveling around the world with countries that don’t have seasons, I can appreciate this season even more now as the colours are beautiful.  So to start off our fall session shoots this year was Tu and Rendell.

When I first met Tu and Rendell, it was one of those instantaneous connections as they are both good peoples and such a cute couple together.  So the day of our shoot, I can definitely attest they were in love, as it was so sweet to see Rendell bring along his guitar to serenade his fiancée.  Really awesome stuff.  We wandered around the conservation area and got to the point where we got lost…hehe… but it was an adventure and good memories.   Tu and Rendell, we’re honoured and excited to be a part of your big day next year.  Here are a few pics from our session a month ago. Also wanted to give a special thank you to Tu My for intro’ing us to your sister… sincere merci and yay! we get another excuse to see you both again next year =)

Lets get Married – Marie & Marlon – Le Jardin

Gi and I just got back from our summer vacation (summer is late fall in the wedding photographer world=)) where we backpacked all over Europe in a short but sweet span of two weeks.  Being totally refreshed, we rocked our last wedding last night to end off an amazing wedding season this year.

Just before we left, we had the honour of capturing Marie and Marlon’s big day – and talk about an awesome wedding.  Its funny, for 98% of all our wedding clients, we get the privilege to get to know them throughout the year but with Marie and Marlon, It was only 3 months before their wedding when I first met with them… Right off the bat they seemed like people I’ve known for a while.  On the morning of their day, I started off with Marie’s side while Gi was with Marlon and the guys.  Marie and all her bridesmaids looked gorgeous and when the beautiful Rolls Royce came, we where off to meet Marlon to do the reveal – I think our multi angle photos will visually tell the reaction on this moment =)

There were many aspects to their wedding that Gi and I loved, aside from being surrounded with great peoples all day.  In no particular order, here are a few.

-       It was special to see Marlon’s groomsmen were all his brothers and his son

-       The MC was hilarious (Marc Trinidad) and DJ’s play serious big tunes all night.

-       The speeches were awesome and we loved the games and dances.

As always, before we lets the pics visually story tell their day, I want to thank Nellie and Jackie from L3 Events for introducing me to this awesome couple and for doing a KILLER job that day (you too Raphael =)) and a sincere thanks to Marie and Marlon to giving us this opportunity to capture your day.  Here are a handful of pics we chosen to bring back some memories as we process in the rest.

Your Friends, Leon & Gi
