Welcome Baby S // Newborn Photography

The amazing thing is… two months from now… we would be celebrating Gina and Sam’s first wedding anniversary. Gi and I had the blast of capturing this special event in the Dominican last year.  So fast forward 9 months and a bit and Gina and Sam has added another beautiful daughter to their family.  Guys… I mean this from the bottom of my heart, I am truly happy for you both.

What I love about Gina… she’s always prepared, super creative, and a perfectionist.  She brought all these aspects to this awesome shoot.  Literally the whole family jump in to prep baby S for this shoot…totally a family affair (don’t worry Sam… I took some in the making pics for you… of your mom in law standing on a chair holding the hammock and Gina down below ready to catch.. awesome stuff)

Anyways, I’ll let the cute pics do the talking.  Much love guys!

Maida and Michael // Toronto Atlantis Pavilions Wedding

Starting off at Michael’s parent’s home, I quickly realized what a close knit family Michael had as he was surrounded by his parents, cousins, sisters, and more. I mean you felt the love with just the range of Michael’s boys who came from the west coast (San Jose) to the mid west (Chicago) to the east coast (Tdot). I also quickly realized how Maida is a super lucky girl because a man who grows up with three sisters is definitely going to know how to treat a lady.

We had some time before the ceremony so the boys and I hung out on the rooftop of Michael and Maida’s future home.   It was a beautiful space with a spectacular view of the Toronto skyline.    And as some may have seen I got up to some higher heights that apparently made everyone nervous – but you got to get up to get the shot sometimes =).

Gi

Before I get into their wedding, I just want to comment on my wife’s last statement there… umm ….whatever happed to safety first?  You guys will see the pics…

Maida and Michael’s wedding was awesome… seriously.  I started off in the morning with Maida and the girls (and when I mean girls, how awesome is it that both Maida and Michael have three sisters each that where all in the wedding party). One key thing I would want to mention is how beautiful Maida’s parent’s back yard was… which gave a perfect spot to do a few details. We headed downtown to the gorgeous church of St. Basil’s and used the surrounding location as our photo wonderland.  I mean how can we not we love using the urban city as a backdrop.  Maida, Michael, and their wedding party are amazing… they did anything we asked and were the tons fun type of people.  So certainly, running in the middle of the scramble is no prob for them.

Atlantis was their venue and it’s a personal favorite of both Gi and I… for the biased reason that we got married there too =)   So it was great that we had some time to use the gorgeous facility to get some pics in.    Before I let the pics tell the story, just a few notable mentions… Maida’s sister performance… AMAZING.  Awesome SDE from www.madeincamera.ca To Emily, thanks again for the warm intro to M&M… it all started from you =) Last but not least,  Maida and Michael, I can’t thank you enough for having us be a part of your day.  Here are some pics as we’re processing the rest.  Congrats again guys!

Any moment now…. Kathy & Eric’s Maternity Session

I mentioned this before in another posting that being a photographer is something I absolutely love, it has become a part of me. But being able to capture the life events such as  marriage and newborn is what truly brings meaning to my life and allows me to leave a small imprint on the lives of others.  This especially holds true when it comes to friends.   This year has been the year that many of our close friends have started their families and it’s amazing to see the joy all around us.   When Kathy asked me to capture her and Eric for this session, I was pretty stoked.. cause it was a nice chance to really have some fun and keep thing easy breezy while capturing this time in their lives.

Like the rest of our friends and family, we’re totally excited to meet the little guy… so, have some pepper.. go for a walk (according to google) and to get a move on bringing baby E to this world =)  Here are a few pics from our day guys!  Much love!

S&S + Baby M Family Lifestyle Session

There are so many things I loved about this session aside from the obvious… of how gorgeous and cute this family is.   I love how enthusiastic S&S was for this session and the fact they were TOTALLY prepared for the shoot – a photographer’s dream I tell you.  Lets see… there were matching outfits, props, baby furniture and gorgeously painted walls and they even had decorated rooms throughout their home.  I didn’t get a lot of time to personally get to know S&S….but I hope your day job involves something in the line of colours, fashion and decor, cause you guys have such a great eye for detail.   The shoot was awesome as Baby M is super adorable.    To S&S, sincere thanks for welcoming me into your home and having this fun session.  Here are just a handful of the many pics from our day.  Enjoy!

Tu My and Andrew // Angus Glen Golf Club Wedding

Matching socks.  What does that mean?  Well basically, it was my first indication on how detailed oriented Tu My and Andrew are.  They planned everything in their wedding down to the t – down to the socks.   The morning started off with me at Andrew’s where I am really starting to appreciate how technology has changed the way weddings worked.  Giving the gifts to one another has always been a wedding tradition, but what was different is that Andrew and Tu My used Facetime to watch each other’s reaction.  So cool.

Gi

Oh man, we have been pretty busy and it’s been a while since I last posted… so first off, I hope everyone had a great long weekend and happy thanksgiving.  For those of you that know Tu My and Andrew, I think you can agree with me as they are one of the chillest couples.  And this reflected their wedding too, where it felt like a perfect pace from beginning to end.  I started off in the morning with Tu My and her girls and when Gi arrived at the hotel… we swapped for a bit and I hung with the guys to prep for the reveal.    The weather was awesome that day… so outdoors downtown we went to get some pics in with their amazing bridal party and a gorgeous sunny outdoor ceremony at Angus Glen.   The night went perfect… with some notable mentions… Wicked MC’s =), good times on the spiderman kiss and awesome food for Rovey.  Before I let the pics visually story tell their day – I want to sincerely thank both Tu My and Andrew for having us capture your awesome day, it is truly an honour and much love to you both.

Our First and our Last for 2012 // Jo & Rob

Jo and Rob are our very first booking for our 2012 wedding season and ironically enough our last wedding to end off the season.  Being the first… is pretty exciting for us as it starts the ball rolling.  Honestly, we are lucky to have these two end off our year.

So, I mentioned in previous entries, this year for whatever reason, the majority of our clients have been in the health sciences.  Research, nursing and even doctors.  So it’s pretty cool that Jo falls in this category too.  It was great seeing Jo and Rob at our lifestyle shoot as it’s been probably a year and a bit since I’ve seen them last..and they look awesome.

We started off by Humber bridge and worked our way through downtown Toronto, nothing like incorporating a little water and city feel for the shoot.   Funny, we had this session a month ago and man… looking at the weather now, it makes me totally miss summer.

Jo and Rob, I had a blast with you both! I am totally excited for the big day that’s coming up.  Many thanks again and here are just a few pics from our shoot!

Leon Chai
