S&A + Little S Family Lifestyle Session

I remember the first time I met S two years ago, she was MCing a wedding I was shooting… at that time she was pregnant with little S.   So it was so nice getting an email from her to capture some pics of her and her family.   What I loved about this session was the fact that there were so many similarities between mother and daughter.  When we were processing these pics, I kept saying to Gi that I guarantee when our time comes… Gi would have some matching outfits ready to match.   The weather wasn’t the greatest that day but it was pretty awesome that S&A had some rain gear for little S, so we headed out to get some shots too.

To S&A, thank you both for this session!  We loved capturing you guys as a family and little S is crazy adorable.

Amy+ Eric ‘s Lifestyle Session // Toronto

You know those people that you met and within the first 10 seconds you can tell that they are such good peoples…. Amy and Eric fit that description.  Right off the bat when I first met with them last year, I felt that way.  I was keeping my fingers crossed that they would choose us.

So… believe it or not, looking at the pics below it was pretty cold that day but both Amy and Eric pulled off this session perfectly.   Gi and I are really excited for their wedding since they are going for vintage travel theme.  We tried to incorporate some of this as Gi and I scouted some spots in Toronto to go along with the theme.   Personally I think the end result of the session ended up having more of a theme of a “hot couple” =).  These guys look amazing in front of the camera !

A few more weeks to go till their big day and after chit chatting with them last night about their wedding… we are totally stoked and ready.   Before we let the pics visually story tell our session, I want thank the amazing team of Jacqueline and Nellie from http://www.L3events.com for introducing us to the gorgeous couple (these wedding planners are on the ball with everything).  Also a sincere thanks to my new friends Amy and Eric for having us be a part of your wedding.  Much love guys and see you all in a few weeks!

Christina and Dan’s Lifestyle Session // Vancouver

If you know us really well and I mean really well, you’ll recognize Christina in these pics.   Then again, you might not recognize her in “normal” attire.   3 years, 11 months and 26 days ago (and brownie points goes too… ) Gi and I had the honour of Christina marrying us…and having a friend perform this sacrament for us meant the world to me.  It’s funny, a few days after our wedding, I remember one of my friends emailed me and wrote, “good for you guys.. having a female perform your ceremony… rock on brother...”  LOL

A few weeks back I flew into Vancouver to shoot Christina and Dan’s lifestyle session before meeting up with Gi on a connecting flight to Hawaii.  I love everything about the city of Vancouver and was stoked to capture them in their city.   The session was fun, relaxing and thankfully, the weather held up for us.  It’s funny, in Toronto…  I have a standard reply when couples ask about the rain contingency on their lifestyle session… “90% of the time the rain lasts only 20min here… it’s not Vancouver where its rains ALL DAY”.    Christina and Dan are naturals in front of the camera… and they look hawt!  Throughout the session, I won’t lie… I was a little nervous asking them to be intimate as they are both pastors!  I don’t know about you guys, but attending Catholic church… these guys definitely don’t fit the look that I’m used to =)

Hanging out, seeing you both and capturing this session was so much fun.  I can’t express this any more, but thank you both for being at our wedding and playing such an important role 4 years ago. Gi and I are honoured to be chosen to play such a big part of your wedding in a few weeks. We can’t wait!   In the mean time, here are a handful of pics to visually story tell our day.     Enjoy!

Newborn Puppy Shoot

Here’s a random fact about me.  I don’t really watch TV.  I haven’t watched TV in  oh.. say 6 years… coincidently the same amount of time I got into photography.. consumed by passion I say =)  So, if you see me in crowd one day and everyone is talking about The Voice, NCIS, Glee,  I would be that awkward guy nodding his head and agreeing to everything =)   BUT until recently there is one show that got me on the “blinking box” again – “Pick a puppy” … that show is  pimp.  Because of that show, Gi finally has a couch buddy (she on the other  hand… LOVES TV).    So needless to say, I’m a total dog person, but because of what we do  - its so difficult to own a puppy, as we’re gone on the weekends shooting weddings hours on end.  So.. my internal battle continues =)

With our business, there are few types of calls we get that make us happy in many ways.  Referrals from friends and past clients are the motors that keeps us in business (no words can ever express how grateful I am for people recommending us) but what really warms my heart is to see past wedding clients / friends calling us to document their new addition to their family. It’s always good to see friends that we have not seen in a while, especially when its good news.   When J&K ask me to capture some pics of their new addition a few weeks back… aww man… was this ever a cute session.   I literally fell in love with this little guy.  We’ve been so honoured to be asked to do many baby newborns which we love doing … but doing puppy pics is another level of cuteness.    To my friends J&K, I have not seen this little guy in a while… we will definitely be knocking on your door soon for a visit.

Happy Thursday everyone!!!

Casey & Jonathan Lifestyle Session // Toronto

There was supposed to be two parts to this lifestyle session but it didn’t happen. I will get to that in a second.   I remember when I first met Casey and Jonathan, I knew right off the bat that they are such great people.   So needless to say, I was super happy when they gave us the honour to capture their upcoming wedding.    But they did have one request… it was to capture a few pics in the snow as a part of their lifestyle session.   So from that time onwards… I had my eyes on the weather for the white stuff… but given our warm winter this past year the white stuff never stuck around long enough to make this happen… boo.

Casey and Jonathan’s lifestyle session was our first session to start off our year and given the fact that the weather has been hit and miss these past few weeks… it’s pretty amazing that the day they picked was one of the nicest days so far this year (I think mama nature is saying sorry for the no snow….)   Gi and I really had a blast hanging with these two.  These guys are so genuine and easy breezy to capture.    Before I let the pictures do the talking, I sincerely want to thank my friend John S for referring me to this awesome couple.  To my new friends Jonathan and Casey, here are just a handful of pics from our session.  Gi and I can’t wait for the big day =)
