Big welcome to little N!!! Congrats to N&L!!!

I hope everyone had an awesome long weekend!  We’ve had back to back wedding shoots this past weekend and the weather held out for us!  Cheers to Mama Nature!

Gi and I have been waiting for this session since we first got to know N&L at their fun maternity shoot we did at the studio a few months ago.  When we heard the good news of the arrival of little N… we were super stoked to have another fun session.  After some adjustments as newborn parents, we were able to head over to their home to shoot images of the new addition to the family. “Too cute” is always the word.  We were super happy to see N&L full of energy and excitement.   Here are just a small handful of images from our morning.  N&L, we’re super happy for you guy – see you soon!

Your Friends,

Leon & Gi

“Love Corporate” I say…. J&J Job Fair Event

I started out in “Corporate” 14 years ago…. (holy smoly.. talk about sounding old) and after a few years, I left the Home Depot head office…I changed directions on my path to entrepreneur type roles that lead into what I do now.  For those that know me well… I always say “love corporate”… especially when friends of mine complain about work etc… not saying the grass is not greener on the other side…but I do respect the well oiled machine of a large organization.  Johnson & Johnson is one example of a well oiled machine.

A few weeks back I was commissioned to shoot an internal J&J event that focused on succession planning within their finance department.  Surprisingly there was a ton of creative aspects to this event, as each department within the finance team had to come up with a catchy way to promote and educate the attendees.  When I talk about creative… these guys where SUPER CREATIVE… from replicating and building a “who wants to be a millionaire set” to a theater environment and a film production  that was put together in weeks.   I will never mock a finance person (or CA, since tons of my friends are CA’s) again for not understanding my creative industry since they totally rocked the show that day.

I’m glad to see J&J investing time and effort to promote succession planning within their organization – as they clearly value their people.

I’ll say it again… “Love Corporate”

Thanks, Leon

Two years ago today… I got married =)

Since we’ve been showing you guys all the wedding we do, today would be the most appropriate day to show you our wedding day… since its our two year anniversary =)  I’m super thankful for everyone that celebrated our day with us… since the memories will last a lifetime.   Special thanks goes to Tim and Angela Chin for capturing our day.

To my Wife:

The women who always believes in me, who pushes me to constantly strive harder in life, who loves me for me from all my corny jokes and all the stupid things I do – I thank God every day that I have you. No matter where life takes us, we’ll always have each other and we’ll ALWAYS have fun… I promise you that.  Happy 2 years Gi… Lets do this all over again on our tenth anniversary… maybe on a beach in Hawaii this time... loveyoupumpkin

Mary & Jabbar Married!!

It’s hard to believe with all the rain that we have been getting lately that the weather was AMAZING only a few weeks ago.   To start off our wedding season, Mary and JB had one of the best weekends to get married.  They had both extremes with our shoots as their lifestyle session had been freezing!

Gi and I started off in the morning with Mary getting ready in a house filled with family, friends and tons of kids... all good times.  We had found some perfect places to shoot the week before, and with the great weather we knew our outdoor location would be wicked.   So after the church ceremony we were off to Sunnyside Park… I mean with the great weather how could we not utilize the water =) .   The wedding party was full of troopers, especially the ladies who climbed up rocks in their 4 inch heels, who made the moments picture perfect.

The evening was loaded with entertainment that intertwined the two cultures from Persian dances to live singing ending off the night.  Before we get to the pics, I want to thank Gi for creative direction and Kevin Chan for being my second pair of eyes behind the camera. Most importantly, I sincerely want to thank Mary and JB for having us be a part of their big day.  Here are just a handful of pics from wedding number one of 2011.

Thanks,  Leon

Meera & Jon’s Wedding – Henna Party, Part 1

I’m going to write this entry from two perspectives since to me this was a hybrid wedding … I’ll explain in a bit.    For the past four years I learned so much about the different cultures, traditions and awesome ethnic foods at weddings.   For those of you who have not had the opportunity to experience a traditional Indian wedding... Well…It’s awesome.  The gorgeous colours of the Saris, the detail of the Henna, the intricate dances, and the amazing food always astound me. The fact the celebration last a few days makes it even better.

As I mentioned in the beginning of this entry, this was a hybrid wedding for me – meaning, I truly had the best of both worlds.  I was honoured to be a groomsmen and also have the opportunity to do the photography.  What can I say about Meera and Jon’s wedding… it was simply amazing.  I got to see family and friends that I have not seen in a long time and meet some great new people.    As we’re editing all their images, here are a handful of pics from their Henna party celebration.   As you can see, it was a blast.  Meera and Jon, thanks again for having me be a part of such an awesome event.   Hope you enjoy some of the pics.

Thanks, Leon

Alisha & Frank’s Lifestyle Session Part 2

I know it’s hard to believe, since the weather is awesome today, but a few weeks ago when Gi and I headed downtown to shoot Alisha & Frank’s engagement pictures - part 2, it was freeeeezing – I’m talking Canada Goose jacket cold.   But luckily Alisha and Frank are troopers and kindly agreed to take their jackets off (for some pics..hehe) for us to get “the shot”!

We’re pretty stoked about their upcoming wedding that’s in T-minus a few weeks - it’s going to be a fun few days for us – we can’t wait!  Below are a handful of pics from our session.  To feel the true experience from this shoot, I recommend the following steps:

1)   Change into a pair of shorts and a tank top

2)   Bring your laptop, Ipad or android phone in front your fridge

3)   Open the fridge doors and blast the cold temperature gauge to max

4)   View pics

OK… worse joke ever… I’ll leave the jokes up to Russell Peters and I’ll stick to this picture taking thing =)

Thanks,

Leon
