J+C+G Maternity +Family Lifestyle Session

I really enjoyed this shoot for a lot of reasons aside from the obvious:  hanging with J+C+G.  We all headed off to Sibbald Point to do this session and when we arrived, it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves… not a person in sight.  This session was relaxing and it kind of reminded me that there is more to life then my go go go lifestyle.   I only wish Gi was with me at this session as it would have been awesome just to all hang out afterwards.  Too bad she was recovering from a cold and the last thing she wanted do was to be sniffling around an expecting mother and a little one.

J+C+G are such naturals in front of the camera esp little G. Before I let the pictures do the talking, I want to thank J+C+G for this fun day, the great memories and for the continued support.  Here are just a few pics from our session!   Congrats again and we can’t wait to meet the new addition.

C+M+ E + A+D +G Family Lifestyle Session

For the life of me, I can’t remember when or how I met C&M.... but nonetheless... I’ve known them for a while and they’re good friends of mine.  When C asked me to do their family lifestyle session… she was on me like white on rice to set the date… as she’s also a wedding planner and knows how to make things happen =) …. Trust me.. I worked with her on a wedding before.

On a side note, I once played this trick on C… and it totally backfired on me.  Since then, I’ve wanted to figure out a way to get her back… like oh say maybe try to capture some embarrassing pics of her and post them up?…hehe… Unfortunately, but fortunately that didn’t happen since her and her family looked way too awesome.   Anyways, this was a fun little session that when I look back at the pics and the weather,  I can’t believe this was only a month ago!  Man… I’m not looking forward to this cold weather, I mean I heard there is a chance of flurries tonight..eek!  As always, thank you guys for the fun memories and here are some pics from our session – Enjoy!

Nellie and Aman… Take 4?

Let me rewind to 2 years ago.  When I first met Nellie…we clicked.   People that know her will agree…she’s awesome.  So when I had the opportunity to shoot her wedding last year, it was everything that I expected.  All good times… except for one part… the weather.  It rained, which was not a bad thing since it’s a sign of good luck but just crappy for not being able to get some nice outdoor shots.

So when I presented the pics to Nellie and Aman last year, I promised that when the summer hit this year, I’d make it up to them.  So if rain equivocates to good luck, each time we set a date (I think the count was 4) to do this after shoot… it rained.  (Nellie / Aman.. you guys got some serious wealth coming your way..lol!)    We gave it one last shot and finally the weather cooperated with us.  Truth be told, as much as I wanted to do this for Aman and Nellie…this was my excuse to hook up with the of them again ..have some fun and introduce them to G..as I told her lots about them both.

Nellie and Aman.. great seeing you guys again…Gi and I hope you like the results =)    Here are some pics from our session.   Now I got another excuse to meet up…. Drop off the DVD…

Thanks,

Leon & Gi

Janice and Dan – Lions and lettuce, oh my!

I knew Janice and Dan’s wedding was going to be an exciting one right when we stepped into Janice sister’s house the day of their wedding.  Signs of double happiness, relatives greeting each other with excitement, and bridesmaids scurrying about the house was what greeted us at the door. I think everyone just wanted to make sure that they were looking good before they tortured Dan and his support team with their crazy and fun door games.  I can say the games were definitely original and Dan worked hard to get his bride – never will I look at pantyhose and oranges the same way again.

This lucky and privileged couple were able to get married at the grand and beautiful St. Michael’s cathedral downtown.  It is one of the most well known churches in Toronto and it is always an honour to shoot there, even though there are many photography rules.   At the rehearsal, we were reminded of the rules of the church, which apparently do not apply to guests, - I think I might just dress up as a guest next time – but then I am deceiving the church.- oh…moral conflict!...i digress…back to the ceremony…it was gorgeous, romantic and filled with love.  And ended off with the perfect touch handmade rings by the bride and groom…now that’s an awww moment. =p

The reception was a blast and started off with a bang as Janice surprised Dan with a lion dance and flying lettuce.  Everybody was also staring at the crazy cake that Janice’s cousin made – the details were amazing! (Please check out her site at www.wickedlittlecakecompany.ca)  With the live band, origami kisses, and butt shaking ping pong balls this was definitely a night to remember =)

Congratulations again guys!  Your day was so much fun and enjoy some of the memories we captured for you.

Thanks,

Gi

My Family Lifestyle Session + Happy Thanksgiving + Happy Birthday Dad!!

You know that saying… that goes “The son of the shoemakers has no shoes?” … well.. that’s the case for my family and the goal this year for me was to round up the  family  and to do my version of a lifestyle session – ie. get one of those “mantle” family portraits.   Although it sounds like an easy task (which it is for 99% of all my clients) it’s not so easy with my family.   Not for any one reason, I guess it is mainly that my parents are older so traveling to a location is not easy for them…especially my Dad and my idea of a portrait… AKA a more dynamic approach to posing goes against their mentality of a traditional picture.  Also I have minimal time since my nieces and nephew are young and studying for school.

So what better time to do this?  Well Thanksgiving long weekend of course.

What am I thankful for most in life?… everyone you see in the pics below.

The glue that holds the family together AKA.. Mom

And here is the  result... not my most creative job.. but it does the job =)

10/10/10 Sophia+Aaron Married!!!

I’ve been swamped with shoots /edits and delivering pics for clients over the past few weeks so forgive me for my lack of blogging.  October 10th, 2010 was probably one of my most requested dates for wedding (16 requests for quotes to be exact) but I was long booked a year in advance.   Since I’m in the heart of editing all my other shoots, I’m not going do my usual full blog about their day, but only show 3 teaser pics  that made my  10/10/10 wedding shoot enjoyable.

1)   Mother Nature.  When I saw this sun set, the shooting star and the moon…this window of opportunity was a no brainer

2)   Gorgeous, gorgeous bride /bridemaids and maid of honor.  I think this picture is self explanatory

3)   The Guys.  Probably the funniest and most hilarious good dudes I’ve met in a long time.  You guys made an early morning and a 2 hour bus ride to London extremely enjoyable.

4)   Ok I lied.  The 4th reason:  Sophia and Aaron two great peoples. Congrats again and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
