When Scot first told me a while back that he was going to propose to Janet in NYC, it brought back some awesome memories of me driving like a fool on 6.7.8 (how can I ever forget that date…hehe) to Chicago to propose to Gigi. As with every lifestyle / engagement shoot, I always ask the couple if there is a special spot that is meaningful to them. With Janet and Scot, it was obviously New York City…whoo hoo!
This past weekend Gi and I packed the gear, all 55lbs worth of camera gear – cause I do recognize that my wife’s biceps got massive over the weekend ..heehee – and headed off to NYC with Janet and Scot. The Plan: Land, Scout, Shoot and Play on Sat/ Sunday. In the group, I was singled out as this was the first time for me in NYC… and man oh man.. it was awesome! Apart from the shoot, there were a few things that will always stick to me about my first visit to NYC:
1) This city is HOT… like intense, super humid, 24/7 sweating heat
2) If you have not been to B&H Camera store… Oh man, a must visit if you are into photography
3) Shopping overall is awesome. Embarrassed to admit, but I bought waaaaay more than the wife – and I hate shopping.
4) Oh and did I mention the INTENSE HEAT???
Anyways, I personally had a blast with this shoot – especially hanging out with Janet/Scot and Gi after roaming the city… great memories /good times. J & S, thanks for this opportunity and taking me to your special city. Gi, thank you for your creative eyes, lighting my scene, and thinking of me first – especially when you have to carry my 55lbs of gear opposed to shooting with me this time. Since I’m in the heart of the busy season with edits and shoots, here are a few pics till I have time edit the rest.
Thanks again,
Leon “tuation”
